Hands

This weeks drawing assignment was to draw hands! I think i tend to draw hands too big when i am looking at a model and i make the fingers too pointy they usually don't even look like hands. But we only had to draw hands without the rest of the model. I think mine came out pretty good except the one that really looks like a long alien hand. Overall they are big improvement from what i used to do ( which was make hands without fingers, so they looked like mittens!)

Ink, Water Color and Oil Pastels- Cool Drawing Materials

Today for my fashion illustration class i had to draw some pictures of people using different materials (we have only been using charcoal so this is new to me). We used black ink, oil pastels, watercolor and then mixed them together. My favorite was using the black ink, it made the lines so pretty and clear. Finally being able to use color and stuff rather then boring charcoal was great. At first I was afraid to use these new materials because I am certainly no artist, but my classmates gave some great comments and I really like how my work turned out! Here are a few sample pics of what I did! I hope you like them, think a little abstract and they look better :)

1809 The Regency Era

Today in history we are studying the early 19th century fashion, this is after the Marie Antionette, and before ladies decided giant puff sleeves were fashionable. I drew some ladies and a gentlemen to show the Regent era fashion. They wear simple muslin dresses with cashmere shawls. White was the new dress color and wearing a bonnet was the new hat. Here is a black and white picture and then the color version.
